Sustainability
Sustainability is not separate from hospitality for us. It is a natural part of the way we think and work. As a proud holder of the Green Key Gold certification, we continuously invest in energy efficiency, nature conservation and corporate social responsibility. From innovative solar roof tiles and 100% Dutch wind energy to our own herb garden and ecological ponds, we are steadily making our operations greener and future-proof.
Care for nature and surroundings
Our location on a five-hectare estate comes with responsibility. That is why we invest in a rich and resilient ecosystem, including ecological ponds, habitats for amphibians and rare flora, and our own apiary.
In addition, we work as much as possible with local farmers, hunters from Twente and regional products. In this way, we bring sustainability, gastronomy and nature conservation together in a natural way. The care for nature and the environment can be tasted in our cuisine. You can find more information about this via the link below.

Our sustainability efforts have been independently assessed and awarded Green Key Gold: The highest international standard for sustainable entrepreneurship in the hospitality industry. More information about this certification can be found on the Green Key Global website.

Continuous innovation for a greener future
Sustainability requires choices that go beyond the standard. We were the first hotel in Europe to use zonneceldakpannen, generating over 9,000 kWh of green energy annually. Combined with heat pump technology, improved insulation and induction cooking, we minimise our dependence on gas.
In addition, our entire electricity consumption carries the SMK eco-label and comes from 100% Dutch wind energy. That’s how we combine traditional country living with modern technology and contribute to lower CO₂ emissions.
